Lujia Dalong is a traditional dance of Lujia Village in Seokchu Street. The Lujia Dailong is a board dragon with 18 sections. The whole body of the dragon combines bamboo weaving, paper-cutting, and carpentry skills. The dragon body is equipped with a wooden balance pole, which makes it easy to keep the candle flame upward and maintain balance during the dance. The bamboo dragon body is covered with special waxed paper and decorated with colorful patterns of aquatic plants and animals.

The origin of Lujia Dalong is related to praying for rain. There is a Dongyue Temple in the local West Hengshan Mountain, and villagers would go to the temple to pray for rain whenever there was a drought or a bad year in ancient times. Lujia Village Dragon Lanterns have the words "Dongyue Daidi" on the lead lamp, which has been passed down to this day.

There are a lot of rules when dancing the Lu Family Dragon: the first day is black whiskers, the second day is white whiskers, and the third day is white whiskers, and the route and order of the performance cannot be changed at will. At first, the Lu Family Dragon was performed by the Lu Family's strong men collectively, and after the Qing Dynasty, the Fu Family moved to the village and joined in the Dragon Dance. Nowadays, when the Lu Family Dragon Dance is performed, all villagers in the village, regardless of their family name, can participate voluntarily.

Zhan Family Dragon Lantern  

The Zhanjia Dragon Lantern originated in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. According to legend, there is a huge stone behind Zhanjia Village, whose shape resembles a giant dragon. Since ancient times, the dragon has been regarded as a symbol of good fortune in folklore, capable of bringing good luck and a good harvest. Therefore, the villagers regarded the boulder as the embodiment of the dragon, and thus the dragon dance was performed.

When the dragon dance is performed, the dragon lanterns rise up in the clouds and hover with their heads held high, creating a majestic atmosphere. According to the local legend, the Zhan family dragon lanterns have a special connection with the Lu family dragon, and they are regarded as "husband and wife dragons" by the local people. Every Chinese New Year or major festivals, these two dragon lanterns in the village after the lamp to go to the other village, "husband and wife" meet, dancing together, not only shows the charm of the local folk art, but also conveys the villagers of the hope for a better life and blessings. Zhangjia dragon lantern  

Jangja Dragon Lantern of Seokchu Street, Hyangyang Village is called "the most powerful dragon in Jiangnan," and the dragon head has a huge body with a total length of 18 sections, nearly 50 meters, and it is the only local dragon with black scales, which makes it more well-known.

Zhangjia Dragon Lantern is made of bamboo and decorated with various flowers and colorful balls, the dragon's head, body and tail are framed with rice paper and all candles are inserted, and the dragon's body is bright and transparent after it is lit in the dark. The most distinctive feature is the dragon's head slightly tilted, the dragon's mouth a close, accompanied by a dragon pearl thrown out of the moment, alive and well, the spirit of the people.

The Dragon Dance is divided into two stages, "Playing the Field" and "Worshiping the Head of the Door", in which villagers gather in the open space of the village to celebrate the New Year with the Dragon Dance. After the performance on the field, the dragon dance team goes from street to street and from house to house to pay homage to the head of the door to pray for blessings. After the performance, the dragon lanterns are kept in the Dragon Lantern Hall in the village for use in the coming year.

Mulberry Bushel Dragon Lantern  

Sangwonpo Natural Village in Seokchu Street has a large population and is divided into four sections, namely, Dongtou, Nantou, Xitou and Beitou, and each section has a dragon lantern divided into two males and two females. During this year's Spring Festival, the four dragon lanterns of Sangwonpo Village were unveiled.

Mulberry Pope's four dragon lanterns belong to the "dragon" play, each part of the wooden mortise and tenon connection, can be rotated left and right, each section is equipped with a handle, dragon dancers hold the handle to dance the dragon. Both sides of the dragon body cut and paste shrimp, crab, fish, turtle and other aquatic designs, there are framed palaces, landscapes, flowers and other folk paper cuts.

The Dragon Dance is a very solemn ceremony, with three deafening cannons announcing the start of the dance. The first sound, the dragon lifts its head; the second sound, the dragon turns back; the third sound, runs the dragon. After the three sounds, the dragon dance team runs at full speed towards the village, straight to the dragon lantern field, where the dragon opens its mouth and then officially dances the dragon lantern.
