Nanjing Institute of Water Resources

Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute (Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute), referred to as Nanjing Hydraulic Academy of Sciences, is a comprehensive water science research institutions in China, the national social public welfare category of non-profit research institutions.  Mainly engaged in basic theory, applied basic research and high-tech development, undertake water conservancy, transportation, energy and other fields with forward-looking, basic and critical scientific research tasks. Nanjing Institute of Water Resources was founded in 1935, formerly known as the Central Hydraulic Experiment Institute, is China's first established comprehensive water science research institutions; in 2001 was identified as a national social public welfare category of non-profit scientific research institutions; in 2009, the name was changed to "Nanjing Institute of Water Resources". According to the official website of Nanjing Institute of Water Resources Science in January 2017, Nanjing Institute of Water Resources Science has more than 1,300 scientific research personnel, with more than 670 senior titles. It has research institutes such as the Institute of Hydrology and Water Resources, the Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Hydraulics, the Research Center for the Utilization of Marine Resources, and research and development institutions such as Nanjing Ruidi Construction Technology Co. Ltd. and other R&D organizations. It has established the Hydrology and Water Resources and Water Resources Engineering Science Center.State Key Laboratories (university laboratories in PRC supported by the central government)and national-level international joint research centers, as well as nine ministerial-level key laboratories, technology R&D centers and engineering technology research centers in the water conservancy, transportation and energy industries.   

From 1978 National Science and Technology Conference to the end of 2015, NJWS has won 595 national and provincial scientific and technological progress awards, including 77 national awards. It has published more than 420 monographs and received 435 national invention and utility model patents. According to the official website of NJWSC in January 2017, NJWSC is one of the first national units authorized to confer doctoral and master's degrees in related disciplines, with a first-level doctoral degree in hydraulic engineering and master's degrees in 12 disciplines, with a water conservancy engineeringpostdoctoral mobile stationThe company has trained more than 600 doctoral and master's degree students and postdoctoral fellows.
