Liquid hydrogen is formed by cooling hydrogen to extremely low temperatures (-253°C) and is commonly used as a rocket launch fuel. Liquid hydrogen is much denser than gaseous hydrogen, so it is possible to store more hydrogen in a smaller volume, which gives it an advantage for large-scale, long-distance hydrogen storage and transportation. Due to the extremely low temperature of liquid hydrogen and the large temperature difference with the environment, the insulating requirements for hydrogen storage containers are extremely high.
The technical team of this project carries out research on key aspects such as material selection, design, manufacture, inspection and test of liquid hydrogen tanks, focuses on solving key core technical problems such as hydrogen-proof materials, welding process, high-efficiency adiabatic insulation, batch-production process, high vacuum obtaining and maintaining, inspection and test of liquid hydrogen tanks, and adopts active and passive low-temperature adiabatic insulation technologies, such as real-air gel isolation and adiabatic support of the heat transfer pathway, cold-air recycling inside the tank, and empty space radiant refrigeration. Thermal management technology, such as maintaining liquid hydrogen at low temperatures, reducing heat transfer and evaporation losses - the key core technology toDomestic leading level, fill the gaps in the country, the product performance indexes have reached the same level abroad.The project is currently in the stage of production line modification.
