On December 9, Vice Governor Fang Wei met with Mr. Michael Ho, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham) and his entourage in Nanjing.
Mr. Fang Wei welcomed the visit of Mr. He Maike and his delegation. He said that Jiangsu is a large economic province and open province in China, with obvious location advantages, strong industrial foundation and high level of openness. Over the years, Jiangsu and the U.S. have had very close economic and trade cooperation, cultural exchanges and civil contacts, and the U.S. is currently Jiangsu's largest single trading partner, the sixth largest source of foreign investment and the second largest destination for overseas investment. We hope that AmCham China will play a better role as a bridge to promote exchanges and interactions between enterprises and organizations on both sides, facilitate the expansion of investment and trade exchanges between Jiangsu and the U.S., and deepen cooperation in the industrial chain, supply chain, and innovation chain, and at the same time, continue to help promote Jiangsu, and further enhance Jiangsu's international influence. We will strengthen regular communication between the government and enterprises, continue to build a superior business environment, and provide quality services for the development of foreign-funded enterprises in Jiangsu.
Mr. Ho thanked Jiangsu for its long-term care and support for the development of U.S.-funded enterprises in Jiangsu. He said that AmCham China will actively promote economic and trade exchanges between the two sides, deepen cooperation in medicine and health, science and technology innovation, etc., and realize mutual benefits and win-win situation at a higher level.
