Recently, Mr. Tang Dajun, member of the party group of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce and deputy director of Jiangsu FTO, met with Mr. Chen Xiaojing, senior vice president of Eli Lilly and his entourage in the office.
Tang Dajun welcomed the visit of Chen Xiaojing and his delegation, and introduced to the other party the latest situation of Jiangsu taking the lead in exploring the openness and innovation of the whole biomedical industry chain in China. He said that Jiangsu continues to optimize the business environment and strives to provide a higher level development platform for foreign enterprises, including Eli Lilly, with higher quality development. Lilly is expected to provide more assistance to the open development of the whole biomedical industry chain in Jiangsu by combining its leading advantages in the industry. The Department of Commerce of the People's Republic of China will continue to play the role of foreign investment task force to strengthen support services for Lilly's operation and development in Jiangsu.
Mr. Chen Xiaojing introduced that in March this year, Lilly's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mr. David Davies paid a visit to Mr. Wang Wentao, Minister of Commerce, about the situation. Lilly intends to transfer part of its overseas production to domestic production, and hopes that the Commerce Department will actively coordinate with the relevant provincial departments and support the company through channels such as the Foreign Investment Task Force.
