Chen Tao briefly introduced the latest situation of Jiangsu's socio-economic development and international economic and trade cooperation, and learned in detail about WACKER's investment and operation in Jiangsu and the progress of Zhangjiagang base expansion. He pointed out that the Commerce Department has long maintained close interaction with WACKER, and that the Zhangjiagang production base expansion project has entered a critical construction phase, so it is important to focus on increasing capital and technology inputs while pushing forward the project, and to guard the bottom line of production safety and ecological and environmental protection. He emphasized that the chemical industry is an important and indispensable link in the modern industrial system. He hoped that WACKER would give full play to its technological research and development advantages in the chemical industry, combine them with the advantages of Jiangsu's new energy, biomedicine, integrated circuits and other industries, as well as the advantages of its mega-sized market, and take an active part in the construction of a strong and complementary supply chain in our province, so as to achieve a win-win situation for the company's mutual benefit.
Hu said that the fact that WACKER's investment projects in Jiangsu have been pushed forward smoothly under the personal concern of Jiangsu's leaders and the active promotion of the Commerce Department and other departments of the province fully reflects the great importance Jiangsu attaches to foreign-invested enterprises and the pragmatic work style of solving their concerns, and reinforces the confidence of the top management of WACKER's headquarters to continue investing in the Suzhou region.
