The SmartHK Hong Kong-Soviet High-Quality Development Cooperation Conference will be held in Nanjing on August 28. On August 20, the organizer, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and the co-organizers, the Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Jiangsu Province, jointly held a press conference in Ningbo to introduce the highlights of the event and the cooperation between Hong Kong and the Suzhou region.
This conference is a key work and a major activity of Hong Kong-Soviet cooperation this year. Under the theme of "Innovation and Cooperation, Cooperation and Innovation, and Jointly Promoting High Quality Development", there will be one theme conference and four thematic conferences focusing on financial services, science and technology innovation, green and sustainable development, and authorization of culture and innovation, and a large number of prominent personalities from the science and technology sector and the business sector of Hong Kong and Suzhou will attend the conference. The conference will be attended by many renowned figures from the innovation and technology sector and the business community of Suzhou and Hong Kong. Lv Jian, Chief Representative of HKTDC in East China and Central China, said that the conference aims to explore the innovative cooperation mode between Suzhou and Hong Kong, jointly create new application scenarios, expand new markets, accelerate the development of new productivity, and promote the realization of high-quality development between Suzhou and Hong Kong.
The conference has invited experts and representatives of industry heads in the fields of financial services, technology and innovation, green and sustainable development, and cultural and creative licensing to share their cutting-edge observations on different industries. The conference will also coincide with an exhibition of Hong Kong's design, professional services and innovation and technology projects, Smart+ startup proposals, and business matching. Participating Hong Kong entrepreneurs will visit different parks and enterprises in the province to gain an in-depth understanding of the latest economic development in Jiangsu.
The Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government attach great importance to economic and trade cooperation with Hong Kong, and in order to further promote cooperation and exchanges between Hong Kong and Jiangsu in the field of economy and trade, the mechanism of Hong Kong-Soviet Cooperation Joint Conference was established in 2014. Up to now, the joint meeting has been successfully held for 11 times. Jiangsu and Hong Kong have actively utilized the platform of the mechanism, focusing on the latest trends and requirements of economic and social development of Jiangsu and Hong Kong, continuously expanding the areas of cooperation, exploring the depth of cooperation, innovating the mode of cooperation, and deepening the cooperation between the two sides in a variety of areas such as investment and trade, "One Belt, One Road", third-party market, science and technology, finance, culture and tourism, green and low-carbon, modern service industry, and young talents, etc., and achieved fruitful cooperation. The cooperation between the two sides has achieved fruitful results. Mr. Sun Jin, deputy director of the Commerce Department, introduced that Hong Kong's position as the largest source of foreign investment and the largest investment destination in Jiangsu has been consolidated. Both sides of the trade on the premise of maintaining stability, January to June this year, Jiangsu and Hong Kong import and export trade totaled 12.18 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 34.1%, the growth rate in Jiangsu's major foreign trade partners the highest.

Medical and health cooperation is also deepening.
