The Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was held from July 15 to 18, 2024 in Beijing.
Attending the Plenary Session were 199 members of the Central Committee and 165 alternate members of the Central Committee. Members of the Standing Committee of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and comrades-in-charge of the relevant parties attended the meeting. Some grass-roots comrades and experts and scholars among the delegates to the Twentieth Party Congress were also present.
The plenary meeting was chaired by the Political Bureau of the Central Committee. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee, made an important speech.
The Plenary listened to and discussed Xi Jinping's work report commissioned by the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, and considered and passed the Decision of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Further Comprehensively Deepening Reforms and Promoting Chinese-Style Modernization. The Plenary considered and adopted the report of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China on the review of the serious disciplinary violations of Li Shangfu, Li Yuchao and Sun Jinming, and confirmed the previous disciplinary measures taken by the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, which had resulted in the expulsion of Li Shangfu, Li Yuchao and Sun Jinming from the Party.
